Favorite music artist(s)?

I listen mostly to classical music, but I have a wide range of styles I listen to. In the classical genre, am particularly fond of Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. Some other favorites (post-classical) are Scott Joplin (rag time music), Gershwin, and Stravinsky.

Some contemporary artists I like are Michael Card, Casting Crowns, Keith and Kristyn Getty, This Hope, and Christopher Parkening (classical guitarist)

Person(s) you admire?

I would have to say that those whom I most admire are the pastors and teachers I learn the most from. Godly examples of Christian living and clear teaching of the Word of God are priceless.  I have too many individuals from the Scripture as well as Church history that I admire to list all of them, but some of the highlights are Joseph, David, Daniel, Paul, Augustine, Martin Luther, John Calvin, George Müller, Francis Schaeffer, John MacArthur, and of most significant, of course, Jesus who is the Christ and my Lord.

Some of the teachers who have had the biggest impact on me, and influence in my thinking are Francis Schaeffer, John MacArthur and Tom Nelson.

Favorite verse from the Bible?

Wow… that's a tough one.  There are too many good summary statements in the Bible for me to pick a single favorite.  I would have to say that my favorite verse changes from day to day depending on the topic of study I find myself digging into.  I think that a good set of verses that give a good sense of the heart of the Scripture would be;

    Matthew 22:37-40  And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'  On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

    Ephesians 2:8-9  For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

   Romans 11:36  For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
